#PotentialofUs

This Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the Verizon NYC Fashion City Session. The event consisted of a panel discussion from leaders in the fashion industry as well as fashion and make up sessions. The panel was led by Brandice Henderson, creator of Harlem’s Fashion Row. The panelists included Devan Wallace, Fendi PR Coordinator; Malcolm Diggs, Fashion Designer; Tiffany Reid, Allure Magazine Fashion Market Editor; Wouri Vice, Celebrity Stylist; and Ebony John, Blogger/Fashion Designer. The makeup and fashion sessions were led by Theo Turner and LaQuan Smith, respectively, both having a catalog of celebrities they have worked with.

There was a flow of great advice from all of the speakers. It is always inspiring to be in a room full of people pursuing their passion—and showing it is possible to be successful doing it. I hope you check out some of the amazing work these people are doing.

Along with the presentations attendees were able to meet with the speakers afterward and network with them, as well as other attendees. As stated in the panel, you never know who is in the room with you so carry yourself accordingly. Wouri started his career working with Alicia Keys, however interestingly enough they went to high school together. Proof that you are always building relationships that may prove to be valuable later in life. We are all capable of success and this event highlighted it, hence the great event hashtag #PotentialofUs.

Keep pursuing your passion Strong & Elite Womyn!
